Business Western Cape (BWC) the umbrella body of the following leading business chambers in the Western Cape: Afrikaanse Handels Instituut (AHI); Cape Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CRCCI); Foundation for African Business and Consumer Services (FABCOS); National African Federation of Commerce and Industry (NAFCOC); South African Chambers of Commerce and Industry (SACCI) and the Western Cape Business Opportunities Forum (WECBOF) has held its Annual General Meeting on the 24 of March 2011. At this AGM, Mr Lesley Africa was re-elected for Chairperson for a second term and Ms Viola Manuel was elected as the Vice Chairperson.
Mr Africa, Chief Executive Officer of the Western Cape Business Opportunities Forum (WECBOF) has thanked his fellow constituency members for having confidence in his leadership. Ms Viola Manuel is the newly appointed Chief Executive Director of the Cape Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CRCCI). Ms Manuel made history in that not only is she the first female but also the first Black female to be appointed as a CEO in the 206 years of the CRCCI’s existence.

- starting a business (and assistance from government and referrals to points of assistance)
- provincial government tenders (advertising and enquiring about progress)
- issues related to running a business (e.g. EIAs, rezoning, etc.)
